COMPOSITES:
This material cuts very quickly and cleanly, and is used in applications from aerospace to racecars.

GLASS-REINFORCED PLASTICS:
Fiberglass cuts quickly and cleanly as well--without hazardous dust or fumes.

REINFORCED PLASTICS & KEVLAR:
Even reinforced personnel armor can be quickly and cleanly cut.

CARBON STEEL:
Ultra WaterJet produces a smooth cut on the edge without burn marks, cracking, excess burr, or other problems typically associated with heat-based cutting or mechanical cutting. Furthermore, this cutting process does not affect the heat treatment of the steel.

STAINLESS STEEL:
All grades that are normally difficult to machine with other processes can be cut on the OMAX 80. Where a heat affected zone (HAZ) can weaken the integrity of a part or lead to failure, the lack of any HAZ makes this system important to the food processing and aerospace industry.

HARDENED TOOL STEEL:
Tool steel can be cut without any change in material properties, at up to 10 times the speed of other systems.

ALUMINUM:
We will cut more aluminum on the OMAX 80 System, partly because it cuts so cleanly and quickly, again, without any thermal distortion or color change.

COPPER:
All grades cut quickly and cleanly without thermal distortion, and where reflectivity may have been a problem for lasers, there is none with OMAX 80.

BRASS:
These cut very cleanly and quickly with no thermal distortion.

GLASS:
From ultra-thin panels for telecommunications to super-thick multi-layered bullet proof glass, the OMAX 80 can perform a low pressure pierce that automatically switches to high pressure mode to complete the tool path. The only glass that can’t be cut is tempered glass.

STONE:
From quartz and granite countertops to decorative wall panels.

CONCRETE:
Easily cuts inlaid stones to architectural features.

RUBBER:
Everything from softer rubber and foam rubber to fiber-reinforced and very hard rubber can easily be cut.
